Ex-Intel Leaders Say Russia Hasn’t Stopped Cyber Attacks | Morning Joe | MSNBC

Ever notice that no one ever thinks of these things BEFORE new technology is introduced to transform the world?  The only thing that is talked about is whether Facebook or Twitter or will end up making money or not, as if making money were the only thing life was about.  Oh, I forgot.  In America (and many other countries) it is.  Funny that the government mandates testing toys to see if they are safe for little children before allowing them on the market, testing drugs endlessly before allowing them to be sold, and ordering recalls of automobiles by the tens of millions, but doesn't test to see what the social and political effects of technology that most people don't understand any more than they understand the chemical composition and side effects of a drug before they start using it will be.  It isn't until the bad stuff starts happening, that we hear about how we have to protect ourselves.  Is it not hard to believe that people who are experts both in technology and national security (we do have such experts, don't we?) couldn't have predicted fifteen years ago that a hostile power would take advantage of social media to influence the average Joe and Jane, and warn the American public?  Or did they, but kept their doubts about cybersecurity secret from the public, and were ignored by the politicians until it was too late?

Trump is a Putin puppet why would he pass any legislation to stop it. What bothers me more is our entire government is doing nothing and nothing being done on voting machines. The GOP claims voter fr aid when their candidates lo ses, bbut Trumps campaign wasn't a fraud. Why doesn't out government care? It puts mi nay in their pocket and the g of can assist. W hat a joke.

Anybody who doesn't understand how the Russian mindset works by now, it's like this: find a way to infiltrate anywhere in the US with power, influence or secrets. Trump is beyond a dream for them-he is a raging sociopathic narcissist who is laughably easy to control and has the allegiance of millions of morons who will not listen to reason and think if enough people just IGNORE him everything will be just fine. Yeah, that's YOU Jethro porch monkey. You, who think because you LIKE a candidate who just happens to not say anything bad EVER about the Russians – and ignore that Trump already has 4 indictments on his own team including his National Security Advisor–you are either deplorably stupid or a Russian troll. If you are an American, you are worse than dumb–you are aiding the undermining of our democracy because you are too stupid to admit you're wrong–just like Trump. WAKE UP!

So according to the metric these panelists use, Hannity, Janine Pirro and the rest of the Fox crew would qualify as Russian "accounts" since they spew non-stop incendiary and hate filled rhetoric. Sorry but the Russian accounts might be exacerbating things a bit but the radical right have been doing this for some time now and the Republicans are just fine with it.

To the dismay of the populace, seems that we need to unplug the tech and start over , cyber security is non existent in the global greed of nations to disrupt western democracy , authoritarian , dictatorships flourish in this Orwellian AGE. Trump and the current congress lack the skill and intelligence to over ride the technical assaults on our current world net systems. Face book and twitter should be dismantled and reworked or put out of the domain of pro anti American discourse, of course , none of this will ever happen .

Sam Stein seems to have taken Joe Scarborough's lead in that he just cannot hold his spluttering pie hole SHUT for a few seconds when a woman tries to speak.

Rejep tayip Erdogan · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

Russia wants to take over USA or destroy just like the US did to USSR. Payback time, and Trump is helping them.

KootFloris · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

Yes, let's keep focussing or Russian influence, while the government is owned by a few billionaires that are sinking the American people into poverty and environmental destruction.

Trump told these big business to either move back to america to sale your goods to the american people or face stiff penalty to bring your product to america america had the largest taxes for business in the world so competition with other countries was imposable all trump did was make america competitive with other nations since the tax cut over 60 billion dollars has come back to america along with big business and big jobs these people on medicaid now can go to work so we do not need a nation on medicare that is how it work

Jews become the part of any country, like Russia in this example, and try to control it.
"The leaders of the Social-Democrats (Socialists) included J. Martov and L. Trotsky and the leaders of the Social Revolutionary Party of Russia were also Jewish."

Russia, German, USA, Ukraine… All these contries are controled by greedy Jews. 🙁

deharleyva · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

"Less educated populations…." aka Trump voters.

Impeach trump · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

All you have to do is look at YouTube comment section of any video trying to expose him and all you will find Russian troll praising trumps fake presidency

Rick Delgado · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

The problem with the U.S. is that it's citizens are the most gullible people in the whole world. Twitter, Facebook, and all other "social media" contribute to the dumbing down of people here. Americans will believe anything on these sights.

Shogun_36 · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the sensationalist headline news clips that are being posted on youtube and some of the comments that are being posted are being used to further divide the country. Be careful and make sure you do your own research before forming an opinion, and for Gods sake when reading the news read EVERTHING right and left wing AND THEN form an opinion. There is no point in allowing ourselves to be trapped in a bubble, be vigilant and be proud in our freedom of press whose job is to keep our leaders accountable.

vsboy 25 · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

Trump and Putin are friends.

lladnara stalinovich · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

MSNBC; don't criticize the two major parties- because if you do Russia wins! Do you really believe this? The decline of the American Empire is underway and it is causing the empire apologists to short circuit.

Joel McIsaac · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am

Donald Trump is very weak on protecting US citizens from Russia.. SAD

N Kel · December 31, 2017 at 6:28 am
