Trump is into federalism. I’m from NJ and thank god we elected a democrat. His first priority is to legalize marijuana which might bypass 100 year old sessions opinion.

I have health issues, and suffer chronic pain 24-7, i got addicted to heroin as a result, have been clean 7 years but am still in progressively worse pain and deterioration. I tried cannabis, and personally i disliked the effect, it seemed to amplify what i was already feeling and make the pain worse. and yes i tried varieties of Indica, Sativa, Hybrids, Ruderalis, etc.. Because i can't stand feeling stoned and hypersensitive i decided to try CBD and maybe this is because i'm such a lightweight but whatever 0.01% of THC may have made it into the CBD spectrum oil, i actually did get buzzed. It was mild and short lived, but it was enough that i wouldn't have used the oven or any machinery during that time. Still i do find the low or thc free strains work much better for me, so stuff like charlotte's web that is designed for children is what i take. Hard to say if it makes much of a difference, but i have seen cannabis and cannabinoids help so many people i'm hoping it will do something for me. Not sure why i have such a strange reaction to cannabis when i had no problem with harder drugs… weird. Any way no denying it has medicinal benefits for most people.

I want to note: In my state they are banning HEMP-DERIVED CBD oil. And I think the Trump admin is doing the same here. It's not even cannabis derived CBD oil; it's from the male hemp plant.

Now that's a special kind of stupid.

CBD actually does affect you in similar ways to getting "high" just much more calm. It can relax the mind and body which is how it can help pain and anxiety. It does not cause a psychoactive affect that is much more pronounced in THC but it does chill you out.

CBD oil is shit and doesn't do hardly anything at all anyway. The DEA are on something really hard.

TheReykjavik · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

This would be like banning ethanol fuel and rubbing alcohol, except worse. Alcohol is a dangerous drug, we banned it, and the effects were terrible. Marijuana is the least dangerous drug we know of, it is banned, and the effects of the ban are terrible. The related alcohol products that aren't normally used for human consumption are actually dangerous, drinking rubbing alcohol is very bad for you, and may even kill, but it is not, and should not be banned. CBD and hemp products aren't dangerous (well, a hemp noose can hang someone just as well as a synthetic one), and CBD can even make a tremendous difference in people's health, even saving lives in some cases, and yet it is banned. We need major electoral reform, because the government is not serving us properly. That includes removing the influence of money, that include ending gerrymandering, and removing the electoral college, we need a government that represents the people.

Mike Simpson · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

Is hemp banned in the US? I have a set of bagpipes (I tried to learn to play it forever ago, never went anywhere tbh) and the hole you put the reed in is wrapped with hemp to absorb moisture. It's the standard material that every set of highland bagpipes uses, to my knowledge.

Number Two: A systematic review of the effect of cannabidiol on cognitive function: Relevance to schizophrenia.
Osborne AL1, Solowij N2, Weston-Green K3.
Author information
Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:

Cognitive impairment is a core symptom domain of schizophrenia, neurological disorders and substance abuse. It is characterised by deficits in learning, memory, attention and executive functioning and can severely impact daily living. Antipsychotic drugs prescribed to treat schizophrenia provide limited cognitive benefits and novel therapeutic targets are required. Cannabidiol (CBD), a component of the cannabis plant, has anti-inflammatory and antipsychotic-like properties; however, its ability to improve cognitive impairment has not been thoroughly explored. The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate preclinical and clinical literature on the effects of CBD in cognitive domains relevant to schizophrenia.
METHODS:

A systematic literature search was performed across numerous electronic databases for English language articles (January 1990-March 2016), with 27 articles (18 preclinical and 9 clinical studies) included in the present review.
RESULTS:

CBD improves cognition in multiple preclinical models of cognitive impairment, including models of neuropsychiatric (schizophrenia), neurodegenerative (Alzheimer's disease), neuro-inflammatory (meningitis, sepsis and cerebral malaria) and neurological disorders (hepatic encephalopathy and brain ischemia). To date, there is one clinical investigation into the effects of CBD on cognition in schizophrenia patients, with negative results for the Stroop test. CBD attenuates Δ9-THC-induced cognitive deficits.
CONCLUSIONS:

The efficacy of CBD to improve cognition in schizophrenia cannot be elucidated due to lack of clinical evidence; however, given the ability of CBD to restore cognition in multiple studies of impairment, further investigation into its efficacy in schizophrenia is warranted. Potential mechanisms underlying the efficacy of CBD to improve cognition are discussed.

The real reasons Trumpco wants CBD gone. Number One: Neurological Aspects of Medical Use of Cannabidiol.
Mannucci C1, Navarra M2, Calapai F1, Spagnolo EV3, Busardò FP4, Cas RD5, Ippolito FM5, Calapai G6.
Author information
Abstract
BACKGROUND:

Cannabidiol (CBD) is among the major secondary metabolites of Cannabis devoid of the delta-9-tetra-hydrocannabinol psychoactive effects. It is a resorcinol-based compound with a broad spectrum of potential therapeutic properties, including neuroprotective effects in numerous pathological conditions. CBD neuroprotection is due to its antioxidant and antiinflammatory activities and the modulation of a large number of brain biological targets (receptors, channels) involved in the development and maintenance of neurodegenerative diseases.
OBJECTIVE:

The aim of the present review was to describe the state of art about the pre-clinical research, the potential use and, when existing, the clinical evidence related to CBD in the neurological field.
METHOD:

Collection of all the pre-clinical and clinical findings carried out investigating the effects of CBD alone, not in combination with other substances, in the neurological arena with the exclusion of studies on neuropsychiatric disorders.
RESULTS:

Laboratory and clinical studies on the potential role of CBD in Parkinson's disease (PD), Alzheimer's disease (AD), multiple sclerosis (MS), Huntington's disease (HD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ALS), cerebral ischemia, were examined.
CONCLUSION:

Pre-clinical evidence largely shows that CBD can produce beneficial effects in AD, PD and MS patients, but its employment for these disorders needs further confirmation from well designed clinical studies. CBD pre-clinical demonstration of antiepileptic activity is supported by recent clinical studies in human epileptic subjects resistant to standard antiepileptic drugs showing its potential use in children and young adults affected by refractory epilepsy. Evidence for use of CBD in PD is still not supported by sufficient data whereas only a few studies including a small number of patients are available.

This is what happens when you vote for the GOP. They are authoritarian, hyper-religious, anti-science thieves. If you voted for Trump because of your poor job outlook, you got duped. If you voted for Trump because of Christian values, then you have no values at all. If you voted for Trump because you worry about SJWs, you've fallen for hysteria. If you voted for Trump because Bernie didn't win the DNC nomination, then you're just plain stupid.

Freewheelin' Franklin · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

The Republicans never miss a chance to demonstrate their hypocrisy. They harp on the federal government should stay out of State governments & allow them to govern themselves. States vote  & allow medical marijuana & suddenly the Federal government decides they need to get involved. Fuck you hypocrites.

Khoa Nguyen · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

So marijuana is being legal across the country and now they’re trying to ban cbd oil? What a fucking step back

Ozark Earth Ship Farms · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

Call me a horrible person, but as someone with epilepsy that has been completely unresponsive to currently legal medications but had luck eith CBD oil, and even more with whole plant extract outside the state i live in currently. . I hope the head of the DEA, Trump, Jeff Sessions, Mike Pence.. all the assholes pushing this horse shit.. I sincerely hope they develop unstoppable seizures and can't get CBD oil or cannabis in any form either, because they fucking deserve to suffer the way they have and are forcing innocent people and kids to suffer all because it's too much work for them to read a fucking study on something they are forming policy on.

Idylchatter · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

Referring to the previous post, I suggest the DEA go to http://www.KoiCBD.com and click on the lab reports that shows the precentage of "other cannabinoids" to be 0.00 percent and THC to be 0.00 percent as well. End of story.

Idylchatter · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

https://herb.co/2017/11/15/cbd-users-nothing-to-fear-dea/
Despite the fact that the FDA recently came down on companies selling CBD as a cancer treatment, the DEA seems to be developing its own, more relaxed attitude when it comes to the cannabinoid.

The announcement is a confusing move, not only because we expect the DEA not to be lax about anything, but also because in December of 2016 they sent out a set of rules and regulations establishing a new drug code for extract-based marijuana-related products like CBD oils. This did not cover concentrates like wax or shatter, which fall in with rules governing cannabis itself. The rules didn’t change any of these products from a Schedule I and instead focused on creating a sub-category for research purposes and, presumably, for quantifying non-plant seizures. Back then they had this to say about CBD extracts:
For all practical purposes, all extracts that contain CBD will also contain at least small amounts of other cannabinoids. However, if it were possible to produce from the cannabis plant an extract that contained only CBD and no other cannabinoids, such an extract would fall within the new drug code. […] Although it might be theoretically possible to produce a CBD extract that contains absolutely no amounts of other cannabinoids, the DEA is not aware of any industrially-utilized methods that have achieved this result.”

Robo Tech · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

So by their standards it’s better to be addicted to Rx opioids than to use a non-addictive substance to treat medical issues? Hemp make great ropes and cloth.

Flex · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

CBD is indeed psychoactive as it binds to both CB1 and CB2 receptors. The more appropriate term is "non intoxicating"

L Crom · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

Why are you calling sessions stupid. Nobody is stupid. Trump kisses the butts of the very rich. Who is richer than big pharma. These people gotta know that there is judgement after this life.. They think they will come back as a butterfly or that there is nothing at all. No the dark spirit that takes over evil men and women, originated from somewhere.

Analogous to Tower 7 : Ameaning · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

When youre done being a liberal whatever, you'll be able to comprehend that the prohibition of marijuana is the greatest and most devasting health catastrophe to ever plague human life, and its MALICIOUS, regardless of marketing and rhetoric. I voted for Trump to kill white people and as much as this pisses me off, it prove my vote mattered more than all of yours. At least I can tell myself hundred of thousands of white filth will rot to death in horrible conditions and at accelerated rates, and I think they deserve it. Americans may be too powerful for any other nation to defend themselves against, but at least they have members that hate their own public as much as their victims. They rich don't work nor fight and kill and tax, the people who vote do. Its time they got their bucket of sorrows. Now everyone can be treated like a nigger; I'll take justice anyway its served… who am I to judge. Even the sadistic god of the Jewish religion only murdered the eldest son; the plague of cancer in America takes one of every three; and now younger and younger. Worse plague, same cause, I guess. I just proved a god I don't even believe in… Fun.

WInds O' Change · December 31, 2017 at 9:26 am

Legalize all drugs, it will boost the economy BIG time, reduce overdose deaths, decrease prison population, and allow addicts to function. Oh…wait…never mind, that makes too much goddamn sense!
